Scholarship and Grant Scheme

Section 1:  Conditions for Tuition Fee Remission and Subsidies

*A Student who is recommended by their primary school’s principal for the Scholarship and Grant Scheme or ranked top 20 in primary six can receive a full scholarship for S1 to S6.  The Scholarship and Grant Scheme will only stay in effect under all the following conditions: 
1.  Average mark of 50 every year
2.  Maintaining a conduct grade of B or above.
If a student does not meet any of the conditions above, this scholarship and grant scheme will be suspended for that specific academic year.

Section 2:  Scholarship
1)  Academic Excellence Scholarship
a) Sapphire Award
S1 to S5 students ranked the first academically in their class or attained an average of 80 marks or above of all subjects and with a B or above conduct and have passed both Chinese and English shall be granted full tuition remission for the coming school year.

b) Emerald Award
S1 to S5 students ranked the second or third academically in their class or attained an average of 70 to 80 marks of all subjects and with a B or above conduct and have passed both Chinese and English shall be granted half tuition remission for the coming school year.

2)  Agate Award: Sports/Art Excellence Scholarship
S1 to S5 students with a B or above conduct who won a championship or first runner-up or second runner-up award in the present school year’s inter-school competitions, e.g. sports, speech festival or singing contest, shall be granted half tuition remission for the coming school year.

3)  Amethyst Award: Tertiary Education Scholarship
Fresh S6 graduates will be awarded a HK$2,000 scholarship when they meet the following requirements:
A). Attaining a minimum of level 3 for both Chinese Language and English Language and level 2 for Mathematics, Liberal Studies and one elective subject in HKDSE;
B). Being admitted to a full-time undergraduate degree programme or locally-accredited self-financed full-time degree programme using the Joint University Programmes Admissions System (Including Caritas Institute of Higher Education,Centennial College, Chu Hai College of Higher Education, Hong Kong, Gratia Christian College, Hang Seng University of Hong Kong, Hong Kong College of Technology, School of Continuing Education Hong Kong Baptist University, Hong Kong Shue Yan University, The Education University of Hong Kong, Hong Kong Nang Yan College of Higher Education, The Hong Kong University of Science and Technology, The Open University of Hong Kong, Tung Wah College, Technological and Higher Education Institute of Hong Kong) or getting into an Adventist University full-time degree programme.

Those who are admitted toother self-financed full-time undergraduate degree programmes will be awarded a HK$ 1,000 scholarship.

Students applying for Amethyst Award must follow the school guidelines. Applicants must submit their forms by 30th September of the year. They should attend the school’s award-giving ceremony and get their scholarship by 31st December of the year, or the application will be considered invalid.

Application form can be obtained from our general office or downloaded from our website.  Application can be made anytime within the school year and will be processed immediately.

Remarks:
(1)   Students intended to apply for the Agate Award have to hand in an application form with related documents enclosed.  The application has to be approved by the executive board of the school.
(2) Underprivileged students may apply for full or half tuition remission at anytime of the year.  Nevertheless, they need to reapply every new school year.
(3)  Students awarded both subsidies and scholarship may be entitled to full tuition remission at maximum.
(4)   Tai Po Sam Yuk Secondary School reserves the right at any time to change the terms and conditions of this Scheme.

大埔三育中學獎助學金章程

甲. 減免學費評估準則及資助幅度

＊獲「小學校長推薦計劃」推薦或小六原校考獲全級首20名的同學，均可獲得中一至中六學費全免獎勵；惟學生必須維持每學年總平均分及格及操行達乙等或以上，獎勵方可生效。如在就讀期間，學生於任何一年的成績或操行未能達標，則此資助將在該年終止。

乙. 各級獎學金
(1)    學業成績優異獎學金
a) 藍寶石獎
本校中一至中五各級原校生，於班中的學年總成績排列首名或總平均分八十分以上、操行乙等或以上、中文科及英文科成績均及格者，原校升班後可獲一學年學費全免。
b) 綠寶石獎
本校中一至中五各級原校生，於班中的學年總成績排列第二至第三名或總平均分七十分至八十分、操行乙等或以上者、中文科及英文科成績均及格，原校升班後可獲一學年學費半免。
(2)   體藝優異獎學金：紅瑪瑙獎
本校中一至中五各級原校生，操行乙等或以上，在最近的學年內於學界個人比賽獲得首三名之內的成績，例如：學界田徑／校際朗誦／音樂節比賽個人組獲首三名。原校升班後可獲一學年學費半免。
(3)  升大學獎學金：紫晶獎
本校應屆畢業生，於中學文憑試考獲以下成績：中文及英文科考獲3級或以上、數學、通識及其中一門選修科考獲2級或以上，並經大學聯合招生委員會獲取錄入讀學位課程或自資全日制經評審本地學士學位課程。（註：包括明愛專上學院、明德學院、珠海學院、宏恩基督教學院、香港恒生大學、港專學院、香港浸會大學持續教育學院、香港樹仁大學、香港教育大學、香港能仁專上學院、香港科技大學、香港公開大學、東華學院、職業訓練局香港高等教育科技學院提供之相關課程以及本會海外大學的「全日制學士學位課程」），將可以獲得港幣二千元的獎學金。
另外，取錄入讀本港其他自資學士學位全日制課程者，將可以獲得港幣一千元的獎學金。領取紫晶獎須按校方指引，如按時於該年度的9月30日前提交申請資料，出席典禮，並在該年12月31日之前回校領取，逾期當放棄論。

備註：
(1) 有關的體藝獎項必須由學生主動向校務處呈交書面申請書及其相關證明再轉交本校行政會審批方可作實。
(2) 各級家境清貧的學生全年任何時間均可申請學費半免或全免，惟每年必須重新申請。
(3) 同時獲得本校助學金和獎學金的同學最高只可獲得學費全免的資助。
(4) 本校保留隨時更新本獎助學金章程的權利。
